what an excellent site! when the World Cup came to the US in 1994, i was 13, and couldn't help being drawn to the team in the 'cool orange shirts'.
as i've grown older and become a bigger fan of 'the beautiful game', so has grown my appreciation for the Dutch National side, and the individuals that comprise it. what the Dutch play is the epitome of sport as art, and i can not get enough!
i very much appreciate your site as a place to gather wonderful information on the current side, but maybe more so, as a way to learn of the past masters whom i missed out on. (the 'The Master Speaks' section of Cruyff quotes is dynamite!)
excellent in every way! thank you very much!

At last a site that can give me information of 'THE' team, and I can read it! Are there any other sites out there as good as this?

I love soccer. Playing it and watching it. And of course, Johan Cruijff (or Cruyff as you call him) is the best soccerplayer of all time. 'Every advantage has a disadvantage' Brilliant! However '74 and '78 are dark ages of the past. Nobody here wants to be reminded of that (on the post in stoppage time! AAARGH!). Thank god for '88...
To oranje fans all over the world: keep supporting The Netherlands! And remember: De bal is rond, en zonder de bal ken je niet winnen.

My friend I understand is very hard to make the best eleven Oranje, but I think van Breukelen, Berry van Aerle, van Hanegem deserve their place there.

Interesting site. But:
You can add two league championships:
In 1994 and 1995 Ajax won the Dutch title and Rijkaard was part of that team.
And subtract one:
Ajax won the Dutch league in 1980.....but Rijkaard wasn't part of the team. He made his debut in the next season.
He also didn't win the continental cup in 1995. Ajax won that cup in November, half a year after Rijkaard retired.
In your list of honours the league cups are missing.
In 1983, 1986 and 1987 he won with Ajax the Dutch cup. I don't know about his Milan cups, but I presume he won something there too.
Milan won the European cup in 1994, meaning they were Italian champions in 1993. That was Rijkaard's last season in Milan.
Further, he didn't win the European super cup in 1995 because he retired mid '95.
And of course his name is not 'Rijkkard'.
That's it for now, I'll be back...
